In Case of Emergency

If you are having a health emergency, call 911.

In a mental health-related crisis, you can;

  1. Walk-in for services or call HWS at 941-487-4300  to schedule an appointment by selecting “Option 1″ from the Menu, between the hours of 8 AM – 5 PM.
  2. You can also contact NCF’s 24/7 Crisis line, (941) 487-4300, and select “Option 2”.

Who is eligible for Health and wellness services? All currently registered New College students.

Are there fees for services?  No, all standard services are free. If there is a service that rises above our scope of standard care, a referral will be made.

When are services available?  The business hours for our services are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Hour for services vary by program.  Services are not available during winter break or during the summer break.

Do I need an appointment for services?  Appointments for health and wellness services are recommended but not required.  You may walk in for services, and every effort will be made to see you the same day, but this cannot be guaranteed.  If we cannot see you on the day you walk in, an appointment will be scheduled.

Are all Health and wellness services located in the same building?  No.  We have two main offices on campus:  The Health and Wellness Center (Bayfront Campus, Building 120) and Prevention and Health Promotion (Pei Campus, W2130, Peterson Residence Hall).

Do you offer psychiatry as a part of the services? We refer all psychiatric care to outside community resources.

I am an alumni. Can I be seen at the Health and Wellness Center? As an alumnus, you no longer qualify to receive services.  However, if you need referral information for a community provider or records for continuation of care, we can assist you with these areas.

Sports Medicine is a set of services that focuses on the well-being of athletes and students who engage in physical activities. Sports medicine includes athletic training services and counseling related to sports performance and overall wellness.
